Women's Prisons

The policy of allowing biological males who deceitfully claim to be women to infiltrate female prisons is a reckless betrayal of vulnerable women, rooted in a denial of biological reality. New South Wales (NSW) led Australia down this dangerous path, with the Australian Institute of Corrections codifying self-identification policies in 2000. As early as 1999-2000, murderer Noel Compton Hall, alias Maddison Hall, was transferred to a women's prison for eight months, where he was charged (though not convicted) with raping several female inmates and allegedly impregnating one. This practice, also seen in other Australian states, the USA, Canada, Ireland and the UK, endangers female inmates, who face heightened risks from men's physical strength and higher rates of violent and sexual offending.

In the UK, a 2024 Ministry of Justice report reveals 74% of 244 sex deceptionist inmates (181 men) were imprisoned for violent or sexual crimes, compared to 19% of the general prison population. A 2018 UK report found 60 of 125 such men had sexual offence convictions - twenty times the rate of female prisoners. In Australia, a 2017 Lynch and Bartels study confirms these men exhibit male criminality, with sexual offence rates far exceeding women's. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (2024) notes 1,639 prisoners convicted of sexual assault, highlighting the broader risk.

Cases expose the policy's failures. In South Australia, Leslie Richards, alias Krista Richards, a violent male offender, was housed in a women's prison, threatening female inmates. In NSW, Karl Amati, despite so-called "gender reassignment" - which just means castration - fought with female inmates at Mary Wade Women's Correctional Centre after so called "de-transitioning" - which just means he stopped lying about his sex. Terry Mark Donai, alias McKenzie Donai, a double murderer, was denied transfer to a women's prison in NSW in 2025 due to safety concerns, yet the consideration of such a request underscores the policy's absurdity. In the UK, Stephen Terence Wood, alias Karen White, a convicted rapist, assaulted two women days after placement in a female prison. In the US, Demetrius Minor, alias Demi Minor, impregnated female inmates, a vile consequence of prioritising feelings over facts.

A 2011 Swedish study confirms these men retain male-level criminality, hormones or not. NSW's 2000 policy, reinforced by 2017 and 2019 Communities and Justice guidelines, allows men to access women's prisons based solely on self-identification, with minimal safety checks. South Australia's similar approach compounds the risk. This endangers female inmates, 84% of whom are abuse survivors, per the Vera Institute. Women's prisons are for women, not men exploiting loopholes. Biological reality demands single-sex facilities to protect the vulnerable, not enable predators.
