Affront to Decency: The Ethical Violations of the Dentons Playbook

The Dentons Playbook’s push to grant children unrestricted access to legal gender recognition (LGR) is a profound betrayal of human decency, casting children as pawns in an ideological crusade. By advocating for policies that allow minors to change their legal sex without robust safeguards, the playbook undermines the protective roles of parents and professionals, violating ethical standards of child welfare and societal responsibility.

The playbook’s contempt for parental rights is particularly egregious. In Norway, it supports policies allowing courts to override parental objections, portraying parents - who know their children best - as obstacles to be bypassed through state intervention. This state-sponsored alienation erodes family bonds, replacing parental judgment with activist dogma. Such policies risk destabilizing the foundational relationships that support children’s emotional and psychological well-being.

Additionally, the playbook’s contradictory stance on privacy is an ethical failure. While demanding privacy for children undergoing LGR, it advocates for public deeds and birth certificate annotations, as seen in Malta. This risks exposing children’s personal details in public registries, contradicting the purported goal of protecting their privacy. Such inconsistencies reveal a lack of genuine concern for children’s welfare, prioritizing ideological victories over practical protections.

The playbook’s dismissal of biological sex as irrelevant threatens sex-based protections in critical areas like healthcare, sports, and single-sex spaces, where acknowledging biological reality is essential for safety and fairness. By casting children’s subjective identities as paramount, it undermines the ethical obligation to ground policies in objective reality, endangering vulnerable populations and eroding trust in institutions meant to protect them. The playbook’s approach is an affront to decency, demanding fierce resistance to restore ethical integrity to child protection policies.
