The Injustice in Women’s Cycling: A Sport Under Siege

Emily Bridges and the Farce of Fairness

One of the most infamous cases in recent memory is that of Emily Bridges, a male cyclist who, after failing to make a mark in men’s cycling, decided to compete in women’s events. The results were as predictable as they were outrageous - an unfair advantage over female cyclists who have dedicated their lives to training under the assumption that competition would be fair.

American Men Dominating Women’s Podiums

The United States has been particularly egregious in allowing men to take over women’s cycling. Riders like Austin Killips have waltzed into women’s categories, effortlessly overpowering their female competitors and snatching titles, prize money, and opportunities that should rightfully belong to women. This is not competition - it’s institutionalized cheating.

The UCI’s Shameful Complicity

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), cycling’s governing body, has utterly failed female athletes. Instead of enforcing sex-based categories, they have caved to ideological pressure, abandoning the very women they are supposed to protect. When female cyclists dare to speak out, they are silenced, threatened, and called bigots for defending their own rights.

The Future of Women’s Cycling

If this continues, there will be no future for women’s cycling. Young girls will see no point in training for a sport where they can be replaced by any second-rate male who decides to identify differently. Women’s cycling does not belong to men. It is time to reclaim fairness, restore integrity, and put an end to this disgraceful charade once and for all.
